The First Move

On Monday 17 we packed up and moved from El Rancho in Waikanae and headed for Masterton via the Pahiatua track. We had a scare just out of Waikanae as the caravan got a major "wobble" as we reached the speed of 80k's.We stopped at Te Horo and after talking to Paul (Four Seasons Caravans) changed tire pressures and emptied morewater out of both fresh and grey water tanks, with this change the caravan tracked a lot better.Going over the Pahiatua track was a breeze and the run down to Masteron was fine.We are parked at the Mawley Park Motor Camp and with help from Mike (the manager) parked the caravan with ease. The temp was up near 30c so putting up the awning was a real effort in the heat, but we managed it.We need another mirror to see behind and and a stabilising bar to help in the towing. We stay here till Monday 25th before moving to Napier.

I believe that you should never travel with water in any of your holding tanks as it tends to 'slosh' around. this may have been you problem

Well if that was the worst of your problems, then you didn't get off on too bad of a start. Good luck and I'll keep checking back for more updates!
