Cape Farewell, Wharariki Beach and Fossil Point

Cape Farewell, northern most point of the South Island


and the one seal enjoying the surf


Heading out to Wharariki Beach, took the wrong turn and ended up with lots of sheep


Got to the beach and found all of these arched rocks and islands


If it had been at low tide we could have walked back along the beach
a fantastic place

the split is a closed area (nature reserve) so you can only go
further as part of guided tours
