Foregotton World Highway

This is between Stratford and Taumarunui, an interesting drive through wild country with great views, deep gorges and a very winding road with the gorge section unsealed.
Mt Damper Falls are the highest in North Island at 85m


You also have this old original tunnel to go through, it was carved out by hand



And at last you reach the historic town of Whangamomona which boasts a population of about 30 and once a year declares its self an interdependent country which requires you to get a passport etc, the pub is the focal point ..



If you every have the time it worth the drive, just have a full tank of petrol because there is none out there ..
